With regular changing of the water, cut Hydrangeas can last up to 10 days!

Here’s a little fun tale: According to Japanese legend, a Japanese emperor once gifted a woman he loved with hydrangeas because he was neglecting her in favor of business affairs. Because of this story, hydrangeas are said to represent heartfelt emotions, gratitude, and understanding.

Hydrangea leaves are poisonous as the leaves release cyanide. However, the Hydrangea species “Serrata” have been used by Buddhists as a sweet tea as part of a cleansing ritual. The tea is said to help treat autoimmune disorders as well as malaria, kidney stones, and enlarged prostate.

Did you know that January 5th is Hydrangea Day?

Hydrangea is of Greek descent. "Hydor" means water and "angos" means jar or vessel. Explaining why hydrangeas need lots of water to survive.

Hydrangeas have different meanings according to color: Pink represents love and sincerity, Blue represents forgiveness, White represents boasting or bragging, and Purple represents abundance and understanding.

Hydrangeas do not have petals! The beautiful part of the flower that we see as petals are actually sepals or modified leaves to protect the florets.

I am so pleased with this Bird of Paradise Bloom!!! I’m excited to introduce this beautiful and exotic flower to you! I know you will enjoy making it as much as I did.

The best part, it is quite easy to complete. This pattern gives you directions for creating the Flower bud, Full bloom, and the leaves. You can create these blooms into a short arrangement or make them tall and beautiful as I have! Either way, they will stand out and make a great first impression.
